- Financial Reporting & Audit (25%)

Complex Transactions & Technical Advisory
- Review and analyze complex transactions across a multi-entity structure
- Write technical memos and position papers, and defend the conclusions
- Act as the go-to technical advisor for business units and finance teams
- Lead impairment, lease and investment-in-associate accounting reviews
- Identify accounting issues early and recommend practical solutions
- Oversee financial statements and note disclosures under IFRS and ASPE
- Review consolidation entries and intercompany eliminations
- Coordinate external audits across multiple entities
- Meet internal and external reporting deadlines
- Lead, coach and develop a team of CPAs
- Review memos, entries and analysis prepared by the team
- Build strong relationships with business unit and finance peers
- Lead research and implementation of new standards, including IFRS 18
- Drive process improvements and reporting automation
- Support change initiatives across ERP and consolidation systems

- Learn the entity structure and reporting calendar
- Meet key business unit and finance stakeholders
- Review open technical issues and recent memos
- Start giving initial guidance on incoming transactions
- Own first drafts and conclusions on complex transactions
- Take over review of the team's memos and entries
- Support interim and year-end audit planning
- Get comfortable in the ERP and consolidation tools
- Serve as primary technical advisor to business units
- Lead a year-end audit cycle across entities
- Drive IFRS 18 implementation work
- Deliver first process improvements
- Full command of the entity structure and recurring technical issues
- Complete IFRS 18 adoption and related disclosures
- Team operating with clear review standards and development plans
- Positioned for broader responsibility across the finance group
- Canadian CPA with Canadian experience
- 7+ years of IFRS technical accounting across public practice and industry
- Experience leading a team with direct reports
